I first started tie dyeing in the late 1980s, making shirts for myself to wear when on tour following the Grateful Dead.  I took a 25 year hiatus after the mid 90s, and have recently begun the art again.  All items are hand tied and dyed using Procion MX dyes at my home in Twin Falls, Idaho.
